Privacy Policy

Your files

None of the tools on this site have a server component. Every compression, conversion, merge, split, or edit runs as JavaScript inside your own browser tab, using the open-source libraries pdf-lib and pdf.js, which are hosted on this site rather than fetched from a third party at runtime. Your files are never transmitted anywhere, they stay on your device from the moment you select them to the moment you download the result.

AI and machine learning

Your files are never used to train AI or machine learning models, by us or by anyone else. This isn't a policy we could break even if we wanted to, because your files never leave your device, there's no copy of them anywhere for a model to be trained on.

Accounts and personal data

There is no sign-up, login, or account system, and the site does not ask for your name, email, or any other personal information.

We don't track you

This site does not track individual visitors and does not record sessions, no mouse movements, no clicks, no keystrokes, no screen recordings, nothing of the sort, by us or by anyone else. The only thing it ever optionally loads is Google Analytics (below), and even that is aggregate usage statistics for improving the site, not a tool for watching what any one visitor does.

Cookies and local storage

Local storage is used for two things, both stored only on your device and never sent anywhere: remembering whether you've chosen dark or light mode, and remembering the choice you make on the cookie banner. If you accept it, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to recognise you as a returning visitor. Reject the banner, or just leave it there, and it never sets anything, it doesn't load until you say yes.

Analytics

This site optionally uses one third-party service, Google Analytics, and only after you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, change your mind any time with the button below. It's used strictly for website improvement, seeing which pages get used and which don't, so we know what's worth fixing or building next, not for building a profile of you or following you elsewhere. Governed by Google's privacy policy.

It never sees the files you process with this site's tools, that processing happens entirely in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere, whatever you choose on the banner. Rejecting, or simply not responding, means it doesn't load at all, not just that tracking is switched off after the fact. The site shows no ads and runs no session recording or heatmap tool of any kind.

Support payments

The Support page offers an entirely optional way to chip in via Stripe, a third-party payment processor. If you choose to do this, Stripe handles your payment details directly, this site never sees or stores your card information. This is completely separate from your files: nothing about a support payment is linked to, or affects, how the tools themselves work. Using the tools never requires paying anything.

Contact form

The Contact Us page sends messages through Web3Forms, a third-party relay, so messages reach us without our email address ever appearing anywhere in this site's code, where it could be scraped. Web3Forms sees the name, email and message you submit. It doesn't set cookies on this site, the form sends a background request rather than redirecting you to their site. Using the contact form is entirely optional.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub's servers necessarily process standard connection information (such as your IP address) to deliver the page to you, this is outside this project's control and is covered by GitHub's own privacy statement. This project itself does not access or log that information.

Fonts

Page text and icons are loaded from Google Fonts. Like any external resource, that means Google's servers see the request, including your IP address, when a page loads. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies for this. If you block it, body and heading text fall back to your system font, but the small icons throughout the site (search, dark mode, and so on) won't render without it.

Third-party links

Pages on this site link out to external sites (for example, the pdf-lib and pdf.js project pages). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what data is collected, the "Last updated" date above will change to reflect it.
