How can I check that nothing is uploaded?

Don't take it on trust, test it. Open a tool, switch off your Wi-Fi, then process a file. It still works, because nothing needs to be sent anywhere. For the technical version, open your browser's developer tools and watch the Network tab while a tool runs: no request carries your file.
